Continuous counselors support

Thanks to a 24/7 hotline, La Traversée – Suicide Prevention and Crisis Center is able to take over client support duties from the local service providers outside their office hours.

Counselors support in the community

The counsellors of the community have access to coaching at any time through the 24/7 hotline. It is also possible to generate initial contact with clients by calling La Traversée at the time of the meeting. 

Consultations and case study in the community

La Traversées staff travel to intervention sites on request, to discuss intervention strategies or attend specific case study.

 Clinical support for counsellors affected by a client’s suicide

Every counsellors may be confronted at one time or another with a client’s suicide ou attempted suicide. This person then has free access to a specific clinical support service for counsellors.

Training program

Des ateliers de sensibilisation, des formations agréées par Emploi-Québec et des conférences sont offerts aux persoAwareness-raising activities, Emploi-Quebec-accredited training courses and conferences are offered to counsellors wishing to acquire skills closely related to the issue of suicide. Our training, awareness activities and conferences are also offered in the workplace. Our trainer tailor the content to the clientele and needs identified by participants.

Costs vary according to the activity and workplace (institutional, private, community), and include taxes, documentation and travel expenses.

Raising awareness among clients

Suicide prevention and bereavement activities are offered in a variety of settings, tailored to the needs of the participants. Our employees are also available to present La Traversée´s services and talk with clients.
